About
Follow on social media for tips and "how to" info for appeals in Texas courts, and updates from the San Antonio court of appeals. I created this blog, formerly known as the "4th Court Updates Blog," in 2018 when I served as a staff attorney at the 4th Court of Appeals in San Antonio. The blog now covers a broader range of appellate issues.

"Appeals to authority," refers to more than just actual appeals to appellate courts. An "appeal to authority" is a logical fallacy that assumes the truth of a statement merely because the statement was made by someone in a position of authority/status.  A cornerstone of my approach to appellate law is questioning assumptions, assertions, and rulings by trial and appellate courts, and exploring unexplored avenues for success.
